The King’s Trust’s 'Get Into' programmes are short courses that support young people to get their 'foot in the door' in industry and start them off in their careers.
Our first Get Into Construction programme, will run at the Prince's Quarter in Glebe, Sydney; an exciting new social housing project that uses innovative construction methods like cross-laminated timber and traditional trades to create a genuine home for those that need it most.
Run in partnership with First Choice Apprentices and KANE constructions, Get Into Construction participants will gain hands-on experience on the construction site and will be given all the necessary skills, qualifications and experience they need to take their first steps in the construction industry.
The 4-week programme will run from 27 May to 21 June 2024.
“It’s a great opportunity for young people that want to gain experience and learn what it’s like to work in Commercial Construction. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people are also encouraged to apply,” said Alex Dowthwaite, Project Lead - Sustainable Communities.
