Get Into Construction 2024

Learn more about the Get Into Construction programme with The King's Trust Australia.

Construction is one of Australia's fastest-growing biggest industries. It offers great opportunities for young people to build a successful career for a great work-life balance, job security, career advancements and much more.

The King’s Trust Australia is proud to announce we will be supporting young people to Get Into the construction industry in partnership with First Choice Apprentices.

The 2024 “Get Into Construction” programme will give three young people the chance to gain paid hands-on experience with KANE Constructions at the Cowper Street Development construction site in Glebe, Sydney.

A partnership between the New South Wales Land and Housing Corporation and The King’s Trust Australia, the Cowper Street Development is an exciting new sustainable social housing project. Comprising upwards of 75 new social apartments and terrace houses, the Cowper Street Development is a deliberate response to the need to do density well by ensuring new development fits in with the existing character of established neighbourhood.

Run over four weeks, participants will acquire the basic skills, safety equipment and tickets (including their First Aid Certificate and White Card) to ‘Get Into’ the construction industry and get started in their careers.

Globally, The King's Trust's ''Get Into” programmes has helped over 3,000 young people get into industry last year, and we are pleased to be helping young Australians Get Into the construction industry in 2024, in partnership with First Choice Apprentices.
