Applications for the 2024 Enduring Design Masterclass are open
The Enduring Design Masterclass is back foranother year, and applications are now open.
Taking place between the 22 July - 14October 2024, participants will learn the theory and practice of traditionalbuilding and design knowledge, and develop hands-on skills in stone masonry,traditional carpentry, bricklaying, and more. First Nations, European andregional perspectives and approaches to design will also be taught.
The programme is run in partnership betweenthe University of Queensland, the King’s Trust Australia and INTBAU Australia.
During Orientation week (17-19 July 2024), there is an optional On Country Experience in Cairns to gain hands-on learning about First Nations design traditions and perspectives from Gimuy Walubara Yidinji elder Uncle Peter (Bumi) Hyde.
“It’s been a once in a lifetime opportunity to get hands on experience from some of Australia’s leading people in traditional craftsmanship and traditional, sustainable design. The way to a sustainable future is through past learnings and techniques, said a previous participant.
Applications close at midnight on Sunday 30June 2024.
